This past week was fairly uneventful. I didn’t run much – one four mile trail run on Friday. With back to school events and packing for a weekend hunting trip, I just didn’t make the time to get out. The four mile run was really nice, though. It was at about 10,000 feet in the mountains south of Steamboat Springs, near the summit of Gore Pass. And it was my first run in my new pair of Hoka One One Speedgoats. I can’t say much about them yet, after just one run. I do notice, though, that the toebox is much narrower than I prefer. As far as max cushioned trail shoes, I might have been happier with a pair of Altra Olympuses, but maybe I’ll try them next. But, I also have a pair of the Hoka Bondi (I have the Bondi 3), and it has become a favorite shoe even though it’s not a wide size, so the Speedgoat may go the same way.
